The Woman's Tux - A play on mixed gender inspiration
Intrigued by YSL's first woman tux which was offered up on the catwalks in the 1970s, who referred to it as "le smoking", we decided it was time for our very own "le smoking" Chinese cheongsam as well.
It was a daring 1st attempt for us to design this collection as we are playing with multi-dimensional factors... western versus eastern...masculinity versus femininity.
This collection, we celebrate the Tuxedo through our own lenses incorporating elements of a man's sharpest look….all rolled into a cheongsam. The result is magnetic....a feminine form in a tux with oriental flavors.
Perfect for year end celebrations with our new pieces named The Chap, The Porcelain Bow, Pink Tux ,The Girly Tux and Tux Vest.
